AA 'Highly Commended' Award winners 2004-10.Watermead is a friendly, family run Guest house where a warm welcome awaits you. This charming Victorian villa, built in 1875, is ideally located on the A30 at the top of the High Street, but in a quiet position, set back some 50 metres along our own private driveway. Within our 10 comfortable bedrooms we offer a wide range of high quality bed and breakfast accommodation, suitable for both short and longer stays for either business or leisure. Our dedication to hospitality, cleanliness and customer service has resulted in us being awarded for seven consecutive years, the accolade from the AA of a ' Highly Commended ' guest house. All bedrooms have tea and coffee, flat screen digital television, toiletries, hairdryer, alarm clock radio and central heating. Iron and trouser press available on request. Free WI FI access. We are totally non smoking within the house.Our large private car park which is adjacent to the house, has ample space for up to 12 cars. The shops, inns, restaurants and amenities of the town are just a short stroll away. Freshly cooked, hearty English breakfast (or vegetarian/lighter options) made with locally sourced produce are served in our light and spacious dining room with conservatory overlooking the garden. The historic town of Chard is an ideal base for exploring the many delights of Somerset, Devon and Dorset or for breaking the long journey to Cornwall. The Jurassic Coastline (for the keen fossil hunter!) and the ever-popular River Cottage are both within a scenic 25 minute drive.

Joan & Robin welcome you to Lindens. Our friendly family run bed and breakfast is situated at the top of Chard high street with excellent surroundings and facilities. Lindens has five main bedrooms, of which 3 are full en-suite, 2 double, with room for a cot bed, 1 family room (able to sleep 4). Each room has it's own T.V., Fridge, Tea and Coffee facilities & hair dryer. All our rooms are available for long & short stays. Families or Individuals, Business or Leisure all are welcome at any time. Lindens also caters for the disabled which includes wheelchair access, stair lift for those who cannot manage the stairs, bath hoist in the main bathroom and disabled equipment if required. Lindens has a large garden with swimming pool (summer only use), sauna and ample private parking. 
The Golden Fleece is a family run Inn, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Carol and Paul Bloomfield have been serving up traditional home cooked food for the past 6 years and have built up an excellent local reputation. Frog Street drives its name from a medieval meeting place. It is tucked away in the depths of Somerset and surrounded by beautiful gardens and open farmland, yet on 6.5 miles from the M5. This Somerset longhouse dates back to the 15th Century and has plenty of charm and character including beamed ceilings, Jacobean panelling and open fireplaces. Here you will find character and comfort in equal measures. Outside, horses in the fields along with cows and sheep, riverside walks across the open farmland. Inside, private guest lounge with log fire, plenty of original beams and Jacobean panelling, along with luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms. Frog Street’s bedrooms are each distinctively different and individually decorated to the highest standard. Bedrooms look out on to farmland, cider apple orchards and the pretty garden. They are all spacious and comfortable, with white Egyptian cotton bedding, and a mix of antique and French style furniture. The atmosphere is friendly, restful and unpretentious. We provide a cooked, full English breakfast using the very best local produce, including our own free range eggs, local butcher's sausages and homemade preserves. A choice of vegetarian and continental breakfast is also available. An evening meal can be provided but must be pre-booked, dietary requirements can be catered for.
